What is a wholesale market (hal) price?
Wholesale market price is the price at which produce — vegetables, fruits and other food items — is traded among licensed wholesalers at metropolitan wholesale markets. It differs from retail (supermarket) prices and represents the reference price before logistics, packaging, storage and retail margin are added.
What do Min and Max prices mean?
Min is the lowest, Max is the highest wholesale price observed in trades that day. The spread depends on variety, season, quality, source region and supply/demand dynamics.
Where does the data come from?
All data is automatically pulled from official open sources: T.C. Ministry of Commerce Hal Registration System (national 81-province average) and metropolitan municipality wholesale markets (Istanbul, Antalya, Konya, Gaziantep, Eskişehir, Bursa, Kahramanmaraş). No manual entry.
How often is the data updated?
Most cities update daily; bulletins are typically published between 09:00–10:00 Türkiye time. Some cities like Kahramanmaraş publish weekly reference prices. The LIVE/Fresh badge at each section header reflects data freshness.
Why is wholesale price cheaper than supermarket price?
Retail price includes logistics, packaging, shrinkage, storage, rent, staff, VAT and retail margin. Wholesale price excludes these and serves as a reference point for retail pricing.
How does seasonality affect prices?
Fruit and vegetable prices vary significantly with harvest cycles, weather conditions, source region and currency rates. Use the trend chart on each product page to inspect 30-day, 3-month and 1-year change history.
Which cities are covered?
Currently 7 metropolitan markets plus 1 national average: Istanbul (European side), Türkiye-wide (81-province average), Antalya, Konya, Gaziantep, Eskişehir, Bursa and Kahramanmaraş. New cities are added as official sources become accessible.
